Brandon Monk, a Texas attorney, was fined $2,000 for using fake AI-generated citations in a wrongful termination lawsuit against Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. He cited non-existent cases and citations, breaking court rules. Judge Marcia Crone also ordered him to take a course on generic AI to prevent future abuse.
